5010 Compliance Headaches?
Months ahead of the January 1, 2012 deadline for submission of 5010 compliant claims, MedFocus performed claim testing between its practice management system and electronic clearinghouse, closely monitoring the progress and ensuring that when the time came, the company and its clients would be ready.

The company is currently submitting claims successfully, and has a full action plan in place to monitor both government and private payers to ensure that claims are received and processed after submission in the days and weeks following the deadline.
"As always we will be aggressively monitoring claims, and if we find that payers do not move as smoothly through the 5010 transition as we have, we will take every action possible in partnership with our clients to pressure payers to process claims and avoid payment delays," Smith continues.
