Medical billing is complex and, to a patient struggling with a medical condition, can be overwhelming. Our experience and the initiatives of the Patient Friendly Billing® Project have shown that making the billing process easier to understand and taking the time to explain and answer questions decreases the patient’s anxiety, improves the patient’s satisfaction with the practice, and ultimately increases the likelihood of payment.

Modeled after the guidelines of the PFB Project, our comprehensive patient collections process includes easy-to-read statements and letters and an experienced patient services team that is courteous and diplomatic while answering questions and securing payment on the account.

Because of our extensive tracking software, we are able to easily identify if a patient has not met payment obligations, correspond with the patient accordingly, and if necessary, contact the clinic for a decision on final account action or collection agency assignment.

MedFocus is transparent throughout the process, representing the professional image of the practice in all interactions with patients. In addition, to ensure that our activities match with each client's individual practice culture, every client can customize patient collections protocols including payment plan and collections thresholds.

The Patient Friendly Billing® Project is a nationwide initiative to make financial communications to patients clear, concise, correct and patient friendly.  The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) leads the initiative, in partnership with the American Hospital Association (AHA), the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), and other leading provider and consulting organizations.
